We’re in this together.

My actions are woven into your airways.

We’re in this together.

Your lungs and mine – breathing each other’s fate.

We’re in this together.

Your actions directly influence my pulse.

We’re in this together.

My life and yours.

We’re in this together.

Which is why it pains me when I encounter carelessness and insensitivity.

When so clearly greed is the leading force behind so much of our world.

When it seems like for some people, others don’t matter.

When the need to be in control is more important than taking care of one another.

We’re in this together.

We are interconnected.

Lives seemingly independent, in the hands of other people’s choices.

We’re in this together.

Not each of us on our own island. Not you do you, I do me. Not stay off my island!

It’s the same waters between my island and yours. We share fish. We share seaweed. We share untold secrets beneath the unknown of the ocean. Your waves crash to my shore. My sand finds the wind to get to yours.

We’re in this together.

Which is why the lives of those of us with compromised immune systems depend on your actions and mine.

We’re not alone. We’re in this together.

And yes, that’s really inconvenient.

I know you don’t like to be told what to do. I don’t either.

But we share this planet. And we share the air.

We’re not separate.

We ARE different. We see things from different angles, through different lenses. That’s the beauty – we are a world of infinite ways of seeing, expressing, and thinking things through. And while we must respect each other’s points of view, when someone else’s perspective can so easily affect another’s health, I do wonder where to draw the line of intolerance.

We’re in this together.

And my wish is to not close myself off to other ways.

I can learn from you.

And disagree with you.

And still learn from you.

And open my mind to you.

And my heart too.

I don’t have the knowledge that can say anything is for sure.

Uncertainty is the name of the game.

Right now.

And always.

But some things are more for sure than others.

And we’re in this together.

So stay the fuck six feet away!

Thank you!

Namaste.
