When the heart is open, we have a greater ability to receive ourselves, to accept others, and to give ourselves as a gift to the world through our actions, our words, our breath and our poses. Both on and off the mat, we turn who we are – body, mind and heart - into a piece of art.
In this workshop we will use expressive backbends as a way to offer ourselves as a gift to the world

April 1st, 4:00 PM:
Open your mind, broaden your vision, expand your horizons – Shoulder openers and inversions:

In Anusara yoga we learn to see the bigger picture, to look at things from a wide perspective, from all different directions and point of views, and to be open to greater possibilities. To see the bigger picture is to be open to the universal, to know that we are a part of something greater than just ourselves.
In this workshop we will turn the world upside down in inverted positions, and through the physical act of changing our perspective, see our lives in yet another way.

April 2nd, 12 PM:
Find your midline, discover your power, strengthen your connections – arm balances and standing poses:

Yoga is the process of becoming centered in our own being, settled in who we are, present in our life. In our center we find the great power of the universe, the power of life, that makes us live more fully, and helps us move through life joyfully, even when it’s challenging. In Anusara we learn to recognize our own individual center, as the center of the universe, and through that recognition become empowered.
In this workshop we will build strength and find our powerful center through standing poses and arm balances.

April 4th , 12 PM:
Organizing the system, breaking old patterns, creating new ways of being – twists:

Our yoga practice is a place where we cultivate greater awareness, where we develop greater sensitivity, and become more conscious of our actions, habits, thoughts and both physical and emotional patterns. As yogis, we are always in the process of becoming the person we want to be.
In this workshop we will cultivate soft acceptance, while we reflect upon what we wish to change, what we are ready to let go of, and what we are ready to invite into our lives. Twists are great poses to cleanse the internal organs, reorganize the body from inside, and allow a more open state of mind to lead us to the shifts we wish to make.

April 5th , 12 PM:
Plant yourself in your garden of being - turn inside, get grounded – hip openers and forward bends:

Yoga is a process of getting grounded in who we are. It is a beautiful journey of stepping deeply inside, exploring different layers of existence, and from the depth of our being, continue to emerge, unfold, progress and expand our human experience.
This workshop is an invitation to turn inside and listen. Listen to yourself, to where you are, to where you want life to go, and while getting grounded on the earth with hip openers and forward bends, get settled inside, and let the seeds we plant inwardly sprout and grow and flourish as our poses and as our actions.
Join Hagar Harpak, Tony Giuliano, Gina Zimmerman, and other yogi friends at Still Yoga (www.allstill.com) on Maha Shivaratri – the great night of the auspicious - for a celebration of love and devotion to life! We will practice yoga, meditate, chant, breathe, and invoke the sacred and the love in our lives! There will be live music, tea and coffee (to help us stay up), snacks (even though originally this is a fasting holiday), and great company to spend this powerful, auspicious night with! There will be time to socialize too! Come early, come late, and/or stay up all night and bring up the sun with us!

In the Hindu tradition Shivaratri is a very important holiday that celebrates the ecstatic, blissful dance of the divine. The myth tells that the same sacred night on which Shiva danced his famous dance, is also the night he married his beloved Parvati. How auspicious it is that this year it falls on Valentines Day Weekend!
Traditionally, devotees stay up all night, make fruit and flower offerings to Shiva, observe fast and chant Om Namah Shivaya around the fire! We will play with some of the traditional aspects, and use it as a time to reflect upon the sacred, make offerings to this universal consciousness of which we are all a part, set intentions, and stoke the fire of our hearts with the spark of inspiration, celebration, revelation, salutation, and meditation!

We wish to reach out to the people in Haiti, and donate all the profit to Partners In Health (www.pih.org), a non-profit organization that has been working in Haiti for over 20 years.

We suggest a $30 donation or whatever you can give, for your participation in this event! If inspired, you can tell your friends and ask if they would like to donate some money even if they can’t actually make it to the party!

See you there!
